If you ask me the concept of vinyl wall art is new, funky, cool, retro, unique and a thousand other words that basically mean- if you want your interior to stand out from the crowd then this art is a must have item!!
Everyone recognizes vinyl LPs as retro and once they are painted with a fitting image of a suitably retro iconic star from the time when records were the music platform of the day, a piece of art is born that as a stylistic concept in itself.
The art work comes with a wooden backing frame that means that the artwork stands proud of the walls surface about 1 inch, giving the art greater impact.
From one 12" vinyl LP to multiple Lps attached together larger more substantial pieces can be assembled for an even more impressive statement.
In terms of getting the image on to the surface of the vinyl LP then its going to be the stencil and spray paint. All my art is created with these materials and you must admit that the results are truly amazing. The stencil aesthetic, due to its abundance in urban street art, is pretty much the hottest visual trend around a the moment and I think that this mix and duality between the old and new really makes for a powerful piece of art work.
For now I am going to leave you with a recent Jimi Hendrix piece that I painted - The black/white colours obviously work the best with the retro images and I believe simple is best-also black/white is going to suit any colour of interior decor.
